Since September 2006, inlingua School of Languages has been preparing and examining students for the CILS exam (Certification of Italian as a Second Language).
A CILS certificate, issued by the University of Siena, is a qualification recognized by the Italian state, notably the Italian Ministry of Education and Research and the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and by the international authorities. It is an exam system that fits neatly into the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), and as such you can take it with you wherever you go.
CILS covers all six levels of CEFR, from beginner to proficiency, and acts as a kind of language passport, letting the authorities, academic institutions and future employers around the world know exactly how much you have learned.
At each CILS level, you will acquire a particular set of communication and language skills, and your certificate will attest to the fact that you are able to handle social, professional and/or academic situations at that level.
Corrispondenza tra i livelli CILS e i livelli del Q.C.E.R.
CILS exams are held twice a year, at the beginning of June and December.
An official examination centre, inlingua School of Languages will help you prepare thoroughly for the exam, from registration to delivery of the certificate, and our teachers will make sure you are more than ready.
CILS Preparation Courses last from 20 to 60/80 hours, depending on your starting level and the exam you have chosen to study for. To make sure you get the course that is right for you, we use a specific, targeted entrance assessment to get an accurate idea of your starting level.
